Karachi continues to burn; 27 more killed
The first day of August saw 27 more deaths in the city, with no let-up in the wave of targeted violence. It also spoke volumes about the government’s inaction and inability to normalise the situation in the city. Armed men also torched several vehicles and shops in various parts of the metropolis.
The violence started from Surjani Town on Monday morning, when two groups clashed in the Khuda Ki Basti area, and then spread to the adjoining areas of Yousuf Goth and Taisar Town.
Police said that during the exchange of fire between the groups, some seven to eight people were injured and were shifted to a hospital, where three, Imran, Habib-ur-Rehman and Mikaeel Khan, succumbed to their injuries.
