The Daily Mail has some details of the "sex tapes."

[Link: www.dailymail.co.uk...]

It doesn't need saying really, but this man ruined the lives of these young girls. They may never fully recover or be able to have meaningful relationships, sexual or otherwise. They most likely will never have a spiritual relationship with God either.

They can't give him a harsh enough sentence and though he probably won't get death, I believe he deserves it. And I'm not a proponent of the death penalty.

This was a group activity? And taped? Ewwwwww. What a horrible thing to do to those girls.

I am trying to figure out what the man read in the Book of Mormon that would have justified this. Trust me, there's nothing in there that I can think of.

During an earlier trial, one of the most disturbing things was that one of the girls who was a teen plural wife was, while waiting outside the courthouse, climbing a tree.

Because that's an appropriate action for her age. Climbing trees, reading books, making cookies, maybe wearing make-up for the first time, playing a sport, learning an instrument.

Children.

He believes himself to be a prophet, doesn't he? He doesn't need the Book of Mormon, or guidance from society, he thinks he's getting it straight from God.

Society disagrees. With any luck, this man will never leave prison again.

He may not survive prison.

An interesting, fictional read is "The 19th wife".
I hope this man, truly gets what he deserves, in the most Biblical sense, of MY Bible, not his.

'Under the Banner of Heaven' (non-fiction) is a interesting read about this subject.

He was a sadistic pervert using religion to justify his perversion. It could have been any religion or one he made up, like David Koresh. Wasn't Jeffs caste out by the Mormons for his weirdness? (I tend to mix up these sick fucks.)

I remember when the raid happen, people were screaming "civil rights" and "freedom of expression". What rights did these children have? If the raid had not happened, how many other children would he have molested and lives ruined? Yes, indeed, sometimes the government protects us.

I vaguely remember reading that Jeffs inherited the leadership from his father-that he had survived some life threatening event or illness and was considered "chosen" by church leaders. He grew up in a bubble and presumably never had any exposure to the rest of the world.

This does not excuse his actions, but I think it helps explain them.

Yes, that's true, or so say the Wiki. He inherited the leadership and his father's 20 odd wives.

It's just so horrible. The molestation, of course, but the whole polygamy thing is like sanctioned slavery. Women are property in every sense of the word. These wives, who were raped as little girls too, belonged to his father and then became Warren Jeffs property. Jeffs also told other women and little girls who they would marry and have sex with.

Warren Jeffs also thought he was Jesus. Surprise, surprise.
