A logical end (?) of the infamous career. We must give Fjordy credit though - at least he understands that his brand is forever tainted. In this he is much unlike Pamela Geller and Robert Spencer.

Note that beyond saying the doesn't want to be associated with Breivik and his "horrible actions", at no point in the interview does he express any sympathy for the victims (he seems primarily concerned about himself), nor does he indicate that he feels the least bit penitent.

Psychologically, Fjordman may have a lot in common with Breivik.

I don't know why he wanted to meet me, but I declined. Not because of his extreme views, but because he didn't seem very interesting - like a vacuum cleaner salesman.

But that may make him more dangerous. It's the smart ones you really have to watch out for.

If I thought that his understanding of his brand being tainted due to its connection to the slaughter of children would cause him to feel some remorse and maybe even have a change of heart, then I might give him credit. So far all I've seen from him is self-pity and blame shifting, so color me unimpressed.

He comes from the same filthy hate ghetto that Spencer & Geller live in, so he'll get about as much credit from me as a drug dealer who loses his street creds and goes underground to save himself.

I seriously doubt that his career is over.

Exactly. Breivik's extreme views were not what he found off-putting.

Hey, agreed. He was and remains scum. What I mean is that he is at least smart enough to understand the taint on his brand on a rational level. S&G just push on.

Agreed. I would be VERY surprised if he just walked away from it all. He'll just wait for things to cool off, then contribute from the background in some less public way. I'm sure there are people and networks who'll be willing to support him both financially & morally. (Using the word "moral" in connection with these people causes me massive cognitive dissonance.)

Heh, I hear you. Sorry, I just really, really, really detest people who feed the hate machine that contributes to acts of terrorism & other horrors. Can you tell?
