Personally, I'm more concerned about the rise of the Austria-Hungary Empire. You just can't trust those Habsburgs. . . .

Austria-Hungary? Those weaklings can't hold a candle to the upcoming Mongol invasion.

I think we are at the point where it will be easier to report when Bachmann gets something RIGHT.

The Right wants, wishes for and desires a coherent, distinct Evil Empire, so that they can be the heroes to tear it down.

this reminds me of my idea for a zany post-punk band called "God Bless The Soviet Union"

"the rise of the Soviet Union and our loss militarily going forward"

Well, I am pretty worried about that Brezhnev fellow. He's pretty scary. We need a real tough prez to stand up to him.

Also, too, "our loss militarily"? What does that mean?

So Bachmann's role model for how government can improve a nation's economy is the People's Republic of China, and she frets about the rise of the Soviet Union looming on the horizon. Can she see it coming from her house? (Palin can …)

Forgive her America, for she knows not of what she speaks.

Bachmann and Palin share fundamental character flaws -- both have a propensity toward making snide, petty comments about those with whom they disagree, neither does her homework before making public comments regarding important social and historical events, neither is capable of extemporaneously elaborating on their mundane, superficial talking points, and neither is mature enough to accept responsibility for her own mistakes, failures, and shortcomings.

Actually it's people like her that spook me. The people who would vote for people like her scare me.

Isn't the Persian invasion the one we're supposed to be worried about now?

Michelle Bachmann is a walking argument in why we should stop making the football coach the history teacher and get an actual historian in there.

Considering a very large part of the population wasn't alive during the cold war, that is strange that so many are afraid of the USSR.
