I quite simply don't understand these people. So filled with hatred it oozes out of their pores.

I get that there are artistes who don't like Rockwell on artistic terms. Fine, whatever.

But to not like Rockwell on the terms of his narratives is pretty much un-American. Yeah, I said it.

What kind of a weirdo, pinko, Communist doesn't like Rockwell?

This is what happens when racists are smart enough to hide their real issues with a black President -- they sublimate their bigotry and focus on peripheral issues. At the bottom, though, this is pure, simple racism.

Sick.

Disgusting dirty people these wingers are.

Maybe Jeannie DeAngelis should throw a tomato at it.

Well, MY tolerance just dropped to zero.

Breitbart doesn't like it that the president put up a painting of an iconic American hero, accompanied by some gentlemen who worked for Dwight D. Eisenhower, painted by a man whose very name evokes small-town America, and our best values as a nation?

Well, Breitbart can drop dead.

9 SanFranciscoZionist  Fri, Sep 2, 2011 10:52:32am

Oh, it's worse than I thought. The idiot woman writing this first claims she'd be happier if he'd shown 'Southern Justice', or the one with the little black kids looking at the little white kids as the mover unpacks their stuff, which is BS. I can pretty much write the whine she would have whined had either of those been used.

Then, she compares this to hanging a picture by Mohammed Atta. I'm sure the Rockwell estate will be very flattered by that comparison.

Then she goes on to whine about how Obama doesn't spend enough time praising white Civil War soldiers and civil rights workers. (I mean, shit, white people died so this man could be president. Doesn't that mean he owes it to them never to suggest that there ever was a struggle for them to die in, or that black people had anything to do with it?)

What an astonishing vile person.

Maybe Jeannie DeAngelis should throw a tomato at it.

Or scrawl "[deleted word]" across it.

not surprised, this is how these people think, now the internet allows them to show it

12 HappyWarrior  Fri, Sep 2, 2011 11:27:26am

The whole thing is stupid even for a Breitbart blogger.

13 Randall Gross  Fri, Sep 2, 2011 2:46:51pm

There are these bright and burning moments in history when the good guys get an all too infrequent win. This was certainly one of them, and portrayals of those moments create affirmative emotions in people who are essentially good at heart.

It doesn't matter if it's this painting, a picture of the Berlin wall falling, or Jesse Owens crossing the finish line in 1936. It's all one thing; good winning through persistence and patience in the end. Times changing for the better forever.

So people who are offended by this painting or upset that it's hanging in the white house and writing convoluted essays about it are just fracking evil themselves.

re: #9 SanFranciscoZionist

Well, we already know what meme is coming down the pike, next. It's already started.

We're supposed to be, um, more appreciative of our treatment.

In fact! Ruby Bridges is the racist! She knowingly provoked whites to throw tomatoes at her! She's still talking about it 60 years later!!!!

Dhimmitude mentality.

HA! I think the White house should also put up a great big ole painting of D.P. Upham.
It would be interesting and telling to see who all would respond negatively to it.

There Is No Such Thing Really as Professional Photographers
there's no such thing as Flickr Pro, because today, with cameras as pervasive as they are, there is no such thing really as professional photographers, when there's everything is professional photographers. Certainly there is varying levels of skills, but we didn't want to have a Flickr Pro anymore, we wanted everyone to have professional quality photos, space, and sharing." - Marissa Mayer, Yahoo ...

WAPO’s Glenn Kessler Gives Three “Pinocchios” To Claim of Doctored Emails
It has long been part of the Washington game for officials to discredit a news story by playing up errors in a relatively small part of it. Pfeiffer gives the impression that GOP operatives deliberately tried to "smear the president" with false, doctored e-mails. But the reporters involved have indicated they were told by their sources that these were summaries, taken from notes ...

Men Are Being Sexually Assaulted in the Military, but Nobody Is Talking About It — the Good Men Project
Our Soldiers are being raped...by our Soldiers. In the U.S. Military, annually, more men are being raped by men than women are being raped by men. I state this fact, articulating it in this manner, not to diminish what these women are enduring but to raise the level of awareness and discourse to fully include the men; they have been dropping through the ...

AUSTIN, Texas (AP) - A classroom curriculum system used by hundreds of Texas school districts will stop offering lesson plans after some conservative groups claimed it was promoting anti-American values. State Sen. Dan Patrick said Monday that officials who created the system known as CSOPE will vote to scrap thousands of lesson plans this week, effectively killing the entire system. We know how to reduce the incidence of common medical conditions but …
Obesity is on the rise-- as is the incidence of Heart Disease, Diabetes, Stroke and various forms of Cancer. And, shockingly, diseases that had in the past begun in old age are now appearing at much earlier ages. A groundbreaking scientific study showed how easily (and inexpensively) the rate of occurrence of these and other serious illness could be greatly reduced-- but this information ...

Your Weekly Peggy Noonan Three Martini Column
We are in the midst of the worst Washington scandal since Watergate. The reputation of the Obama White House has, among conservatives, gone from sketchy to sinister, and, among liberals, from unsatisfying to dangerous. No one likes what they're seeing. The Justice Department assault on the Associated Press and the ugly politicization of the Internal Revenue Service have left the administration's credibility deeply, ...
