Flooding causes Cornell University to temporarily close; rampant flooding in Upstate New York
It’s usually snow or ice that shutters university operations, but in the early morning hours of Sept. 8, it was a near record-breaking, steady drumbeat of rain that shut down campus for six hours. It is believed to be the first time that rain and its pursuant flooding closed the university.
Record breaking rains, massive flooding in areas otherwise unaccustomed to such events… Tremendous financial and property damage in cities such as Binghamton (video linked in article) and the best we will ever get from from the current GOP crop of imbeciles is that it is normal, natural or even sent by Gd to wake up the American people.
Good thing the Tea Party has taken on the climate change issue head-onis in a state of collective, anti-science denial as we head into a crucial presidential election.
The only way climate change, and disaster relief, will rise to the attention of the current GOP right-wingers is when they realize that many of their good-ol’boy voters could be stranded on rooftops waiting for the National Guard instead of heading for the polls
