I don't think anybody was hurt. In Tompkins County, the Sheriff closed all roads early on to avoid accidents.

Pa is flooded too... The was the other tropical storm...

How often to tropical storms crawl that far north?

Could it be that the currents really are changing as predicted?

Sorry to bring in the crazy physics talk.

SUNY Binghamton has been closed since Thursday. Good thing I still get their warning emails, or I wouldn't have known. There goes my Alma Mater.

re: #5 RanchTooth

I know a lot of current students there - kids of friends. Reminds me that I have to make some calls. Oh, also of possible tangential interest to you - I am going to a same-sex wedding in CT next week. Daughter of friends. Should be great.

Yea, it's pretty bad here. Good thing I live on top of a hill though.

A friend of mine works with archives in New York State, and she and her coworkers were summoned to the flooded areas to salvage what she could. She apparently saw documents from the 1700s "floating".
