That's really messed up as is the fact that they're separating kids whose first language isn't English from the others. Way to make these people feel welcome, Arizona.

I will admit Arizona has a problem with immigration. I understand if some of them are afraid.

This, however, is the wrong way to handle it.

I don't understand how anyone can come out on the side of immigrants in The Last Refuge for Whites in America (TM).

This has been a problem in other states, though with a different ideological spin.

California's idea that all subjects other than English should be taught in Spanish amounted, in practice, to the same sort of segregation and isolation. It was taking far too long for kids to learn English, since they didn't have massive contact with other, English speaking kids all day long.

Little kids will pick up a language in no time flat, given the opportunity.

Yeah well that's a crap policy too. I agree with you. Little kids are the best at picking up new languages.

How stupid is it that you can get in trouble for having a hispanic accent? Do they go after teachers who have a Southern Drawl, or Bostonian accent? IF not then this could easily be a trampling of civil rights.

QFT. WTF, they didn't notice she had an accent when the hired her? That's some B.S. right there.

Have they listened to the Governor of California?

I almost miss hte days when I used to hear Republicans talking about removing the birth requirement so Arnold could run. Of course, Arnold would be doing worse than Jon Huntsman if he actually could run though his star power may help but I doubt it.
