Gay actress kicked off flight after kiss
A gay American actress and musician has accused a US airline of discrimination after being kicked off a flight for kissing her partner.
Leisha Hailey, an actress on TV show The L Word and a member of band Uh Huh Her, became the latest in a growing line of celebrities to be marched off a Southwest Airlines flight earlier today.
In a series of messages posted on her Twitter account, Hailey claimed a flight attendant had told her kissing her partner was not okay because Southwest was a “family” airline.
The couple were escorted off the flight after getting upset about their treatment, Hailey said.
She claimed the airline’s actions were discriminatory and showed they endorsed homophobia.
She tweeted: “Since when is showing affection to someone you love illegal?”
“This is an outrage. I demand a public apology by SouthwestAir and a refund. Hate is not a family value. I will never fly this airline…”
