Fields of Faith expected to draw thousands to Muncie Fieldhouse
MUNCIE — Fields of Faith will take over the Muncie Fieldhouse on Wednesday night.
The local event will be among more than 475 just like it nationwide presented by the Fellowship of Christian Athletes.
“It is student-initiated and student-led,” said local FCA representative Jeff Mosier. “It gives them the opportunity to project their faith to other students in the community.”
Mosier said the event has grown locally each year since it began in 2009.
The first year, he said, 15 schools were involved. In 2010, there were 22. Each year, Mosier said, there were more than 2,500 students in attendance.
This year, he said, 33 FCA “huddles” (or groups) planned from schools in six counties, as well as numerous youth groups, homeschool groups and the Madison County Youth Ministry Network.
“This year, we’ve added Henry and Randolph county schools,” he said. “And a bus of students will be coming from the YOC (Youth Opportunity Center).”
The theme this year, he said, is built around the Christian rap artist Lecrae’s Don’t Wanna Waste My Life.
