Now, imagine the same coverage, but with scorn. Now you know how JEWS feel.

Then, after you do as Flavia said, imagine the same with fear & anger added to the scorn, your modest dress perceived in the worst possible light, an industry dedicated to making your entire faith look as hateful & barabric as possible, and finally sprinkle that a handful of fanatical Jihadi nutcases who can undo any progress you’ve attained within a matter of seconds—in a nutshell imagine that you & your religion is the boogeyman for 4/5 of the world. Now you know how MUSLIMS feel.

Just for the record, I’m not trying to minimize the long history of what your people have suffered, but it’s been pretty intense for us too for the past couple of decades. We don’t have thousands of years worth of practice in dealing with the psychological pressures of it, nor do we have much political clout or uesful organizations in place to help us deal with the fallout here in the U.S. when acts over which we have no control are carried out in our name .

Maybe if Mormon traditionalism becomes the style driver we can finally get rid of this fashion statement?

I think if this one aspect were better known, Morman’s would get less attention regarding dress.

Mormons start to wear this underwear generally in their 20s, and it’s related to entering the temple. Not all Mormons go to the temple, so not all wear the underwear. The reason you don’t see it talked about much is because it’s very sacred to us,’ she explained.
