You've heard of this magazine, but probably never saw a copy.

I had the chance to scan this magazine and upload all 20 pages as jpgs. I had read about Father Coughlin’s antisemitic magazine from the 1930’s, but this was the first actual copy of one that I had the chance to read for myself. The tone and viewpoint is even worse than I thought it would be; it’s almost too ghoulish to read, particularly knowing what was happening in Germany at the time.

Anyway, I am not endorsing the articles in any way, shape, or form. I just thought some people might find it interesting or perhaps some student might be able to use it for a research paper.

Good grief, you weren't kidding. I was just scanning through the pages and got to a full-page subscription ad for the magazine on the next to the last page. It blames Nazism on the Jews—antisemitism had nothing to do with Jews being Jewish, they brought it on themselves because they "fostered communism".

That's exactly what I was thinking. Some things never change, huh? The far right still uses names for their organizations & publications that seem to have little to do with the actual content or purpose.

Oh wow, that was totally insane. "Social Justice", my ass.

It always kind of blows my mind how pervasive this stuff was in the 30s. The Production Code Administration (MPAA censors) blocked films about the Nazis on "neutrality" grounds as late as 1939.

Haven't read the whole thing, but it is interesting how similar it sounds to some of the "new" Antisemitism and also to the "counter-Jihad" people (substituting "Muslim" for "Jew").

I never saw his magazine, but I remember him on the radio when I was a kid in the '30's. The same hateful bile is being spewed by the present "Defenders of the Faith". Remember "When Nazism comes to the USA, it will be wrapped in the flag and carrying a cross."

Not that it's as bad here as it was in Nazi Germany or Romanov Russia but the questioning of Jews loyalty which I've found extensively in my research is something where the parellels are the same. Same thing with what I know how Catholics were viewed in some corners.
