That really calls for an all caps UH-OH.

I do wonder if the Turks will now pursue nuclear weapons, as a matter of consequence of failing/deteriorating relations with Israel and Europe.

That's a good question. I just finished looking at Hurriyet, and I'm seeing the same type of economic problem the rest of the industrial world is having. They also have some weapons deals going with the US.

If that paper is an accurate reflection of Turkish life, they don't seem all that concerned with either Israel or Europe. The paper is very quiet about the incursion into Iraq. Mostly, I believe that they wish to fight on the economic battlefield. If the paper is accurate.

Seems to me the Turks have little to lose no matter what path they take.

We need them as a buffer to Iran. Then there is the Israel factor and influence in the Arab world. They will extract what they can from Europe- and us. Lots of wheels within wheels.

I think the pace of world politics now extends the reach of the Heisenberg Uncertainty Principle.

US politics, however, is in gaper block. Doesn't reading US news feel like being stuck in a traffic jam?

The photo looks like a ballistic missile to me. “low-flying, terrain-hugging missile with high manoeuvrability, pin-point accuracy and radar avoidance features” ... but then I am a bit behind the times.

Economics/world relations: We have just entered the eye of the hurricane. I hope I'm wrong on that as well.

Better photo of a 'different' missile--note it's a tomahawk-like or ITALD-like system with swing-out winglets.

That's more like it! Ugly sucker - but then, who cares if it gets the job done.
