An Oregon City couple that were convicted of failing to get emergency medical care for their premature son have received the maximum penalty—six years.

Frankly, I doubt it will make a difference; these are people who continue to believe that God will heal their deathly ill children regardless of history and science. If you disregard history and science, you probably won’t pay much attention to law, either.

They will go to jail for six years, and relatives will raise their children. The stalemate between the state and the church will continue. I fully expect that I will be posting about another dead child in this group in a few years.
