The US has a long and disturbing history of interest in eugenics. An old professor of mine spent much of his class on ethics discussing the matter.

Unfortunately, it ranks rather low on the list of horrific things the US has done to its ‘unwanted’ (Tuskegee etc.)

The video is one of the most painful things I’ve ever watched.

This is actually a really old story.

They did it to anyone they decided was inferior - and one of the people they chose turned out to later become a Congressional Medal of Honor winner.

(Ok, I tried to find the story I had read, & could only find this one - [Link: www.inclusiondaily.com…] - that says “Bronze Star for valor, the Purple Heart and the Prisoner of War Medal.” So I am either somewhat mistaken, or there’s another one out there!)

I don’t think so. The fallout from eugenics/racial purity programs was huge.

For instance, lest anyone get the idea it was just “the south”, it wasn’t.

California’s eugenics program was huge [Link: www.csus.edu…]

So was Vermont’s [Link: www.uvm.edu…]
