This is the sort of thing that gets people talking about police state stuff.

Tactical teams with assault rifles? Arresting news reporters?

All over a bunch of unarmed protesters in an abandoned car dealership??!

The car dealership was not ‘abandoned’. It is well maintained and cared for, taxes are paid up and the owner is indeed out of town. He lives in Fayetteville (less than an hour away.). He is a graduate and supporter of UNC-CH and is involved in and supports local community projects.

The ‘demonstrators’ broke into private property. They had no right to do that.

The police responded the way they did because the ‘demonstrators’ refused to leave.

So that somehow validates a tactical team with automatic weapons.

Yeah.

Maybe we should just start shooting “lefties” on sight for trespassing in order to protect property rights.

I also remember something from US history about a bunch of guys who dressed up as Indians and broke into a British merchant ship, stole all of the cargo and threw it overboard.

Having trouble remebering what that was called…

Where did I even imply any of that?

My point is quite clear- the characterization of what transpired is highly inaccurate and deliberately provocative.

Further, Riddle’s company is not the equivalent of the colonial British government. In fact, they have a long history of contributing to the local community.
