Sarah Palin Reconsidering Bid For White House
Considering that everyone else in the GOP field has faltered while Mitt Romney has been consistently at or near the top of the race, is it any surprise that former VP Candidate Sarah Palin is reconsidering a run for the White House?
The former GOP vice presidential candidate revived the possibility that she just might consider parachuting into the race for the 2012 Republican nomination for the White House.
‘It’s not too late for folks to jump in. Who knows what will happen in the future,’ she told FOX Business Network’s ‘Follow the Money’ in an interview set to air Monday night.
With that cryptic comment, Palin reignited speculation about her political future — speculation that was thought to have been put to rest in October, when she announced she would not be seeking the nomination, due to concerns about how it would affect her family.
‘As always, my family comes first,’ she explained at the time, ‘and obviously Todd and I put great consideration into family life before making this decision.’
But since then, polls in key states have suggested that many GOP voters appear to be looking for a candidate not named Mitt Romney to oppose President Obama.
The current front-runner, House Speaker Newt Gingrich, has to a certain extent benefitted from the anyone-but-Romney sentiment.
She’d be a long shot particularly because the Iowa caucus (Jan 3) and NH primaries (Jan 10) are just after the beginning of the year, and deadlines for running are fast approaching.
Oh, and there’s the whole thing of setting up a ground game to run.
No, what this seems to be is a vanity exercise; she wants to make some headlines ahead of a reality tv show she’s pitching about her husband.
