I’ve always thought that Gingrich was in just to raise money for his “rainmaker” role.

And they would run a nation? Newt Gingrich, Forever Disgraced Former Speaker of The House, is only in it for the money and ego stroke. And maybe some new trim.

Best news I’ve heard in a month. I have been stunned and sickened by his meteoric rise in popularity and in the support he’s gained from some important segments of the GOP base. I really had begun to fear that they were going to succeed in making him the nominee.

The stars have been aligning for Mitt for about the last 6 months. It’s going to be hard to surmount the fact that essentially what people don’t like about him is that they don’t like him. Sure he has flip-flopped; you could argue he has done it much more than the typical politician (which is A LOT) but there are all of these intangibles working against him that I think go beyond his religion.
I believe it’s more in line with the fact that as humans we try to feel kinship with others to try and gauge whether or not we can connect with them. Vis-a-vis Romney it’s like we’re trying to that with some A.I.
So it would appear that all the star aligning in the universe can’t guarantee Mittens a win. It is really going to be interesting to see how this is all going to play out.

I think you want a comma rather than a semicolon in your title although I could be wrong; I was never that clear on the use of semicolons.

Is it uncouth to give a hearty “BWHAHAHAHA!!!” in Newt and Rick’s general direction?

If the Republican presidential slate was a movie, the tagline should be:
“The Incompetency Will Amaze You; The Hilarity Will Bring You Back”
