Today's winner in the "just when you thought it couldn't get any uglier" category...

I'm sickened by these attention queens. Do they really want a religious-secular war? Here's a news flash: the secular will win, they have all the guns.

Sick fuckers.

Awwwww, hell!! Here I was, thinking that the photos I'd seen were as bad as they could get, and turns out I was wrong - wearing Nazi Holocaust garbs with a damn smile on their faces, and actually posing a little kid like the Warsaw ghetto boy photo!
Sick doesn't do it justice...

Having just spent a week with my niece and nephew (who are about the ages of the kids photographed...

Kids can be amazingly unaware of the full significance of what they're doing. It's a game, it's a performance, it's a way to please your parents. Kids can treat ideas and themes that adults draw back from as playful and adventurous, not dark and horrible.

[Not germane, but it's with a great sadness that I note that at some point the game becomes the worldview...]

I suspect those kids are having a great time, but it's not their fault that they don't get, that they aren't carrying, the weight of their costume. Their parents, on the other hand...have done something distasteful.

It's almost as if these folks are pretending to be Jewish. If you really understand the Holocaust, you don't do these things; if you really understand the Torah, you don't do these things.

Unfortunately, change is often brought about by some line being crossed, as opposed to flashes of wisdom and insight.

I suspect that changes will be taking place, but it's not going to be pleasant to watch. The results, however, could be good.
