Santorum: Obama Shouldn’t Have ‘Abandoned’ Mubarak
Former Pennsylvania Senator Rick Santorum criticized President Obama’s handling of foreign policy at a town hall meeting on Thursday in New Hampshire. Santorum was very lukewarm on the decision to upend support for ousted Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak. ‘Was he warm and fuzzy toward Israel? No. That doesn’t mean you abandon the dictator,’ he said about the uprising in Egypt.
Santorum’s argument that the Mubarak regime wasn’t the most ideal, but that it was a stable relationship, and should the Muslim Brootherhood come to power in the county, it will be bad for the national security of the United States. This isn’t the first time Santorum has gone after Obama for failing to help Mubarak—he’s been on this line of attack since the Arab Spring.
