Anti-abortion forces looking to New Hampshire after Santorum Iowa success
Anti-abortion forces buoyed by Rick Santorum’s near-victory in Iowa are looking to the New Hampshire primary on Tuesday and beyond to support a GOP presidential hopeful other than Mitt Romney.
But with Romney’s presumed strength in Hew Hampshire, which abuts his home state of Massachusetts, some anti-abortion activists may save their advertising budgets for the critical testing ground of South Carolina on Jan. 21, strategists said.
Missouri anti-abortion campaigners are well aware of the credentials of Santorum, the former Pennsylvania senator who was a main sponsor of the Partial Birth Abortion Act of 2000.
“He has been a very consistent and passionate voice for life and his record is very solid,” said Pam Fichter, of Kirkwood, president of Missouri Right to Life
