Huntsman: ‘Debate format terrible, a real disservice to the people of this country.’
“Debate Format has been Terrible”
MANCHESTER, N.H. — Jon Huntsman is looking to move up in New Hampshire, and will have to do it through some of his least favorite events: Debates.
“I think that the debate format has been terrible,” Huntsman said during an interview at a Manchester hotel. “I think it’s been a real disservice to the people of this country.”
Huntsman spoke just a few hours before meeting his Republican opponents Saturday night at Saint Anselm College in Manchester, and Sunday morning at a television studio in Concord — the 14th and 15th nationally televised debates of the campaign.
One problem is that there have been too many debates, Huntsman said, “a dilution factor.”
“With each passing debate, they become less important,” he said.
