The most interesting thing about this article is that they got hold of the questions the FLDS are being asked by their leaders.
My favorite is: Do you have carnal desires?
To which I would add, if you don’t, and you’re a full grown adult, what is wrong with you? It’s not about the desires that you have, it’s about your ability to moderate and keep your appetites in a healthy place that doesn’t hurt anyone, like not committing adultery or molesting twelve year old girls. Ahem.
(I am assuming here that carnal desires means desiring sex. I could be naive enough that it means something else.)
I hope that Jessop is right. I hope this means the end of Warren Jeffs, and does not end in a darker way.
Also, just for my peace of mind, please know that sometimes the FLDS refer to a practice of theirs by the same name that the LDS church refers to a former or current teaching or practice, but it is not necessarily the same, and is sometimes very different.
