According to a source with first-hand knowledge...

What does that mean?

While the story may be true, at the very least verifiable corroboration is in order.

researchok - I take that to mean that one of the people interviewed for the position spoke about it.
That would be my definition of 'first hand' knowledge.

And, no, journalism doesn't work like that and never has. You must choose to believe it or not - that's always how journalism has worked. In pretty short order, it becomes obvious whose anonymous sources are real and whose aren't.
ThinkProgress, while biased(in the right direction in my opinion) and sometimes a little overzealous in their analysis of news and issues, they are certainly always honest.
Contrast that with most right wing politics blogs and news media such as Fox, and it doesn't take long for anyone paying attention to realize that their self-serving 'anonymous' sources are, for the most part, fiction.

Oh - and the sentence "Fleischer confirmed to ThinkProgress his recent role in filling key communications positions at Komen. " is rather a hint in the right direction!

Thanks to Ari PP has received $3 million in donations in three days. Is there anything these former Bushies can't fuck up royally?

The true definition of "Wingnut Welfare". Every Bush-era official seems to leaves a slug-like trail of incompetence and corruption behind them.

Per her Wiki bio, Komen knows her way around the Bush administrations--she was deputy chief of staff for Marilyn Quale.
