Dude. $100/bbl does not = cheap gas. We are ~$98 presently.

I think you’re more right than I am. I was coming from the point of view of worrying about the effect on the election of a price spike due to things getting nasty in the Mideast.

Saudi still pushing their magical “excess capacity”… the same “excess capacity” that just a few years ago was supposed to keep petroleum below $60/$70/$90 - take your pick - and now below $100.

They’re saying that they will do whatever they can to foster an Iranian Spring. That seems to be the present strategy.

However, keep in mind that the Saudis are about to import 100% of their wheat.

Although Iran is heading towards counteracting Israel’s nuclear deterrent, they can effectively blockade Saudi ports right now.
