Clearly, he is expanding his empire of crazy.

On a more serious note, Teddy Kennedy killed the offshore wind power proposal off Martha's Vineyard for the same reasons cited by Trump.

NIMBY is alive and well.

Ahaha like Donald Trump EVER does something that's not directly attached to his own interest. I hope they nationalize your golf club and put a wind turbine mast right through your master bedroom you freaking tool.

Well, just a thought, maybe they could let people put up their own windmills, or paint them attractive colors or something.

How come nobody ever gets frantic about the appearance of the ugly parts of town. You know the ones--covered by eight million poles, wires, billboards and neon signs with scrungy little stores all next to each other?

Some guy in a kilt will tell Trump in no uncertain terms where to get off.

It'll just about kill him.

We have the (soon to be) largest wind farm in Europe visiible from our house. I honestly haven't heard a single person complaining about it - if anything it adds a little interest to the landscape. Certainly less impact than say, electricity pylons (which are everywhere in the countryside - yet still the tourists come...lol.)

As ice will readily testify, Scotland is WINDY AS FUCK. It would be crazy not to make full use of this resource.

LOL it might just happen. Trump is NOT a popular figure here. He's been on seriously stinky terms with the Scottish government for years.

I always like driving through the Tehachapi Pass and seeing all the turbines. It's really cool.

There is a huge wind orchard on the 401 Highway in southern Ontario, I love driving through it on the way to Toronto.

Indeed, ensuring the ultra-wealthy keep their view uncluttered is much, MUCH more important than aiming to provide clean, renewable, affordable energy to the middle class. After all: they're only serfs awaiting the trickle-down dregs!
I've noticed the world over, there' a new type of self-described 'environmentalist' - they're very wealthy, and they all suffer from Not-in-my-backyard syndrome.

Hey, you don't have to sell me.

Between wind and offshore hydro (wave power) Scotland can literally reinvent the energy business.

It's a lot like that massive James Bay hydro project in Canada.

These projects are game changers.

Donald Trump's middle name is Quixote perhaps?

Never in a million years would I intentionally hurt another person. The GOP Dilemma Over the Voting Rights Act
It's particularly heavy baggage for Republicans. While Democrats and civil rights groups stand largely united behind the broadest interpretations of the Voting Rights Act, for Republicans it's a trickier matter. On one hand, they are eager to reach out to minority voters. They eagerly tout their charismatic, high-profile minority officeholders like Sens. Tim Scott or South Carolina and Ted Cruz of Texas, Nikki Haley ...

Jack Shafer: Snowden vs the Dragons
Reuters: But even the press in aggregate is not a friend to whistle-blowers, as its recent treatment of Snowden attests, what with the deep dives into his teen years (including photos), his education and employment history, his reputation as a loner and a “brainiac,” his pants-down hijinks, his online scribblings, his dancer girlfriend, his predilection for (in his own words) “post-coital Krispy Kremes.” Squeezing ...
