Sen. Grisanti and Wife Punched at Casino Friday Night - City & Region - the Buffalo News
State Sen. Mark J. Grisanti was punched in the ribs and back of the head, and his wife was beaten about the head in a confrontation with some Seneca Nation members after a black-tie gala Friday night in the Seneca Niagara Casino & Hotel Events Center, several sources said today.
The beating occurred as Grisanti tried to calm down two Seneca Nation businessmen who were arguing in a downstairs bar after the event. At least one of them then criticized the Buffalo Republican for his supposed lack of support for the Nation, sources said.
During that confrontation, Grisanti was punched in the ribs, and then a woman with the two businessmen punched him in the back of the head, several people close to Grisanti claimed.
That prompted Maria Grisanti, the senator’s wife, to come to her husband’s aid, and then two women with the Seneca businessmen got her on the ground and beat her up.
Maria Grisanti, whose hair was pulled, was seeking medical attention at a local hospital today. She was undergoing MRI tests after suffering facial bruises and headaches from the attack.
