Minnesota City Councilman Defends Confederate Flag Outside His Home
During the civil war Unionists started displaying the American flag outside their homes. That’s where this tradition started. The American flag was the Anti-Confederate flag.
There have been some people saying the Neo Confederates and Fundamental Evangelicals took over the Republican party and the entire right wing. I think they are right.
Now the Confederate flag seems to be a representation of the Neo Republican party’s ideals as the man states so clearly in the article.
Hansen, a first term Coucilman elected in 2010, Told The Pioneer Press he put the flag outside his house over the summer to no complaints.
“It represents sovereignty, individual rights and individual liberty” he told the newspaper.
“I’m not a racist and i don’t think it’s racist, though people like to play the race card when they don’t get their way.”
Jay Brunn, a developer who is building a house next to Hansens says it caused one prospective buyer to walk away. When informed of this, Hansen told The Pioneer Press: “Good, i don’t want him for a neighbor then. If people choose to be ignorant that’s their own fault. They should study history, it represents true sovereignty”
Hansen, there is a difference between “studying history” and reading a bunch of Neo confederate books you picked up at B&N.
Not ignorant cause’ i studied history
