We were five kids.

To this day, my mother says she has no idea how to cook one chicken.

Dinner at the Duggars is a nightly trip to the Golden Corral.

In a similar vein, family gatherings on my father's side have always used turkey if poultry is to be served. My father is one of six offspring of my paternal grandparents, and all of those 6 and at least 2 children of their own (the average was 3). I am 1 of the 18 grandchildren they ultimately had and my grandmother lived to meet every one of them. So even smaller gatherings of my extended family tend to be large, hence the preference for turkey over chicken.
