Did anyone catch Jon Stewart on Christie the fat guy?

He took various clips of the usual clowns making derogatory statements about "gays", and substituted the word "fat".

Christie is the Next Great Dope.

How about you sit down and stop pretending you're anything but another Koch Brothers puppet out to ruin America?

that's what I expect from my republicans

stupidity, bigotry, and mindless bluster

Christie clearly doesn't understand economies of scale or comparative advantages/disadvantages.

Sure, Buffet could write a check. But even he wouldn't have much impact relative to the size of Federal revenue.
Then, even to make that miniscule impact on the budget, he'd place himself/his company at a huge disadvantage relative to his competitors who wouldn't be burdened by that expense.

This is why he's advocating for everyone in his place to pay more: much larger revenue impact, and everyone's still on the same level by paying the same expense.

I think this is what scares me the most about the Right: their stupidity has reached dangerous proportions, & none of their followers can see it.

Both of them should "Just Shut Up." Fact is, Buffett is wrong, too. The problem is the "Carried Interest" rule that lets people who are in the money business rework all their income as dividends.

[Link: en.wikipedia.org...]

This should be examined, and these loopholes closed.

Do you really want to tax someone who invested all his money in Government bonds at 30%? That's what "Buffett's Rule" would do.

re: #7 reuven

That explains why the Republicans were screaming bloody murder over dividend taxes earlier today. I didn't make the connection until now.

That's because he's not. What he is is a governor who is working hard to solve New Jersey's problems and has done well at that task. Part of that effort involves tax reform, and Christie is understandably tired of Warren Buffett being brought up like some kind of mantra.

Moreover, Chris Christie is not one of the top 1%. He doesn't have a large fortune at his disposal, so the taxes that Buffett waves off actually would have some bite for Chris Christie. And Christie is allowed to be ticked off when people propose raising his taxes.

Sorry, you could not be more wrong:

Not only was 9/11 truther Andrew Napolitano a keynote speaker, but so too was New Jersey Governor Chris Christie - referred to by David Koch as “my kind of guy.”

And just because it can't be said often enough, Chris Christie is also a contemptible, craven, bigot-enabling dirtbag for vetoing the civil rights of gay people in his state.
