First of all, I am not naïve. Hate has always been part of New York’s legacy, from the Draft Riots to gay attacks in the East Village to the occasional swastika painted on a Midwood synagogue. But this is actual neo-Nazis, walking the streets of Brooklyn in Hitlerite gear. 

It should also be said that this is a small group of individuals that by no means represents the Polish-American community of New York. But then again, the only acceptable number of Nazis is absolute zero. 

And you had to do this in Brooklyn, of all places?

 

Your own parents came from Poland because life there, in all probability, sucked. I know because I grew up in Russia, which sucked at least as much as Poland. I bet your parents, like mine, want you to get a college education and a stable job. Those things are nearly impossible to do when you’re wearing SS gear and spouting theories from “Mein Kampf.”
