Final Day Quiksilver and Roxy Pro Gold Coast Called ON, 8:30am Start
SNAPPER ROCKS, Queensland/Australia (Sunday, March 4, 2012) – The final day of the Quiksilver and Roxy Pro Gold Coast presented by Land Rover has been called ON this morning, with the men’s Quarterfinals commencing at 8:30am in two-to-three foot (1 metre) waves at the primary venue of Snapper Rocks.
The opening stop on the 2012 ASP World Championship Tour season, the Quiksilver and Roxy Pro Gold Coast will host an exciting finale today as the world’s best surfers look to claim the first jewel in this season’s race for the crown.
‘The swell has filled in more since yesterday and we’ll be commencing competition at 8:30am,’ Rich Porta, ASP International Head Judge, said. ‘Looking at the long-range models for the remainder of the window, we believe today will have the best conditions on offer and we’ve decided to finish the men’s and women’s events. Good luck to all our remaining competitors.’
Owen Wright (AUS), 22, will take on Adriano de Souza (BRA), 25, in the opening Quarterfinal of the Quiksilver Pro Gold Coast.
