Ann Romney, Jim Bob Duggar Stand in for Candidates in Monday Campaigning
Ann Romney campaigned for her husband in a diner, and Jim Bob Duggar campaigned for Rick Santorum in a Walmart parking lot. It was that kind of Monday in Huntsville as surrogates for the former Massachusetts governor and Pennsylvania senator tried to get real with Alabama voters on the eve of today’s Republican primary.
“I hope so,” Romney said when asked if her husband can win. “That’s all I can say is I really hope so. I really hope voters here understand how important this election is. It’s a watershed election.”
“Don’t give up today,” Josh Duggar, one of 19 children in the realty TV family, said to Santorum supporters. Duggar referred to Monday polls showing Mitt Romney and Newt Gingrich both ahead of Santorum in Alabama and Mississippi, which vote today.
