Ha I remember these. We had several of these types of things at my high school growing up. Usually really tough macho guys tearing phone books in half (and yes, with rock music) and telling us to get motivated and how they found motivation from Christianity. Oh, and these things were always mandatory.

I would love to represent the first student to bring a 1st Amendment suit against this crap.

I remember my high school health class well. The birth control lecture was done by someone from Birthright, bloody fetus pictures and all. And it was mandatory.

This is Bradlee Dean's thing. There have been complaints.

The ministry has been at the center of multiple controversies for its school performances, many revolving around its presentation of religious material in public educational settings.[22] During an assembly at Pequot Lakes High School in 2007, students were shown graphic images of aborted fetuses and girls were made to chant about being submissive to their husbands. The assembly made students cry and angered parents.

There's more at the link.

I guess I'm one of the lucky ones. I went to public school in California, so I didn't have to suffer through any of this shit in high school.

I think the worst I had to deal with was a fundie-ish Junior High teacher that made students with heavy metal t-shirts turn them inside out.

Since we're past the watershed, I'll go blue.
