EU politicians backtracking?

No!!

The part that gets me is the headline:

EU corrects Ashton speech transcript after Israeli anger

“Corrects”, my a—!!!! They re-wrote it, in the truest Orwellian sense.

Ms. Ashton said what she said. And what is more, what she actually said is so entirely consistent with everything she has said publicly for as long as I can remember that I have no doubt she meant to compare Israel’s attempts to defend its population with the intentional butchery of small children for no reason other than that they are Jewish.

I would wish that G-d have mercy on her soul, but she clearly has none.

Something’s different, I tell you.

You know, I wish that were the case.

Ashton is a real piece of work. She knows she is bulletproof on the subject.

I agree, but until they have a soul X-Ray, we’re stuck with a very lame empiricism—‘no, I can’t read her mind to know exactly what she was thinking.’

Cloak of deniability covered by a cloak of human rights.

re: #4 researchok

I had 5 written, and then I had to run and finish making the soup. So consider 5 a footnote to your 4.

re: #5 Bob Levin

Don’t need to read her mind. Like Yasser Arafat or Mahmoud Abbas speaking to their own audiences, all we need to do is listen to what she actually said, rather than the “re-write”.

Yes. However, in my previous post on dear Lady Ashton, the lack of soul X-ray is what caused the comment section to extend.
