Kofi Annan probably agrees.

I’m not straddling any fences, I just don’t want US military involved there.

So, because Kofi Annan wants peace and is trying in the only way he knows how to get it, that therefore means he must want innocent civilians dead?
Gee: that’s the kind of logic the right went with pre-Iraq.

And Bob: who’s “straddling fences”? Do you want us to kill a whole bunch more civilians in order to get Assad out?

re: #5 cinesimon

I think Remember TC can speak for himself, but there is a matter of effectiveness in solving a problem. That’s usually how problems are solved, by someone having an effective method or idea. I don’t see a problem pointing out ineffective people whose ‘solutions’ that take time away from actually solving the problem.

There are many Syrians who are going to be murdered under the umbrella of this agreement. And Assad is going to do the killing.

I don’t recall saying much about how I would solve this. I’m pretty sure there are more alternatives than a tissue paper agreement or US occupation.

Qaddafi is gone, and I believe Russia, China, and Iran are keeping Assad in power. At the very least, this is a tragedy without solution—a monumental tragedy. Russia and China can be bribed persuaded. That leaves Iran.

What would you do?
