For a news criticism outlet to complain about unprofessionalism and then make claims about which photos are how old without any reference given, is that irony?

Charles made a great point about media wise readers. But this paragraph really caught my attention, from poynter

Trayvon Martin photos loaded with meaning

Keith Jenkins, head of multimedia at NPR, wasn’t as concerned about the first Zimmerman photo — it was the only one available — as he was with news outlets’ choice of Martin photos. They generally chose the one of the boy in the red T-shirt rather than a more recent photo of him in a gray hoodie, which has been available all along.

In every one of those photographs, Martin looks like a perfectly nice, slightly goofy kid who could easily be friends with one of my high-school-aged children. None of them, to me, looks like a terrifying thug. The fact that two of them are considered "scarey" says a lot about the cluelessness of some segment of the American public.

The one of Trayvon in the red t-shirt has always been described as 'undated'. Charles M. Blow visited Trayvon's mother and grandmother and saw very recent photos, and said he still looked like that, that he was 'baby-faced'. It pisses me off that some people are saying they have been misled by the photo with the red t-shirt into thinking Trayvon was young and innocent. He was young and innocent! Those who think otherwise would not be convinced by a photo of Travon if it were taken the day he died and he were wearing a suit and tie. They'd say he looked like a pimp.

Instead of whining about photos, they should be asking why the police felt they had to leak such important information as "Trayvon had a bag with marijuana residue", "Trayvon had some tools in his bag" (that they very carefully added MIGHT be the used in a break-in, or, my personal favorite, "Trayvon got suspended for graffiti (which turned out to be drawing on his locker with marker)", but felt it unnecessary to tell everyone that Zimmerman's father is a judge, his mother a Clerk of the Court, and that all three times he got arrested - at least once for fighting with the police - the charges were dropped and the case sealed.
