I’m waiting for the teaparty to protest this astounding example of government tyranny. /

Despite the discussion in the comments at the link, this still seems pertinent:

Between personhood bills and the assault on access to contraception, it’s becoming increasingly clear that anti-choicers aren’t satisfied with simply trying to control the already-pregnant. Finding ways to define the not-pregnant as pregnant is a means of laying the groundwork for exerting this control. Imagine if Roe is overturned and states go into a true frenzy of stripping every imaginable right away from pregnant women. It wouldn’t be limited to stripping the right to abortion, but also to any kind of behavior deemed “abortive,” including holding certain kinds of jobs, eating certain foods, or taking certain medications. With this bill, then, you could not only restrict the rights of those who are actually pregnant, but extend the restrictions to all women of reproductive age on the grounds that they “could be pregnant in two weeks, i.e. in perpetuity” and would therefore be considered the same thing as being pregnant.

One would need to be certified as infertile to have a beer.

The only good news is that an (intentionally) bad definition of pregnancy and “abortive actions” like that would likely be grounds for the law to be found unconstitutional. This would be because you would be punishing a woman for doing something that was not illegal for her to do at the time she did it, which would make the law void based on the constitutional prohibition on ex post facto laws.

 Frank says:

The concept of the rock-guitar solo in the eightees has pretty much been reduced to: Weedly-weedly-wee, make a face, hold your guitar like it's your weenie, point it heavenward, and look like you're really doing something. Then, you get a big ovation while the the smoke bombs go off, and the motorized lights in your truss twirl around!" -- The Real Frank Zappa Book.
