Wait, I thought the Republicans had something to do with why Keystone was blocked?

"Venezuela lover", you're a stupid wingnut.

Simple truth: The fuel transported by the pipeline would be headed for export terminals and would never end up fueling an American vehicle. It's one thing to have political convictions I disagree with; I can respect that. Outright misrepresentation of facts and lying are reprehensible. That's the difference between debate and trolling. For the complete avoidance of doubt: You're a troll.

There is a lot more to the Keystone debate than just pumping up production. It is about the route of the pipeline, the nature of the oil and how it is extracted.

A lot of the costs are being quietly hidden in environmental risks where they will come back and bite us in the butt.

Blocking the Keystone XL pipeline isn’t going to stop a single American car trip. It will simply ensure that car is fueled by Hugo Chavez and King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia

Tar sands bitumen is so slimy and thick it needs to be mixed with Middle-Eastern oil anyway, you flaming bag of derp 9_9

And oh, did I mention Saudi refineries will also get a shit-ton of US taxpayer subsidies thanks to Keystone?

The largest of these refineries, Motiva, is half owned by Saudi Refining Inc., and will receive between $680,000 and $1.1 billion in U.S. taxpayer support.

Where's your "outrage" about that?

Externalization of costs is a major component of energy company profitability.

They did. They also voted against a ban on the export of any products produced by the refinement of oil from the Keystone XL pipeline.

This is an export pipeline, even TransCanada has admitted as much.

Does that make it a "half-ethical" and "half-conflict" refinery, or does our tax support give it a more ethical halo?

this is so nonsensical. as a soon to be returned Canadian, i am thrilled that our country will not be despoiled by the staggering pollution from the tar sands.

Is hitting the all-time negative record a positive accomplishment?
