Gah!

What seriously perverted minds these people have. The world would be a much better place without them.

GMTA. This was pretty much what I was telling my friends - I just wasn't as eloquent as you. I tell you, the ONLY reason I wouldn't just shoot this scum is that I want his nose to be rubbed in the stupidity of his evil. Martyring him wouldn't do that.

Prima facie this is indeed what many extreme supremacists like Brevik appear to believe. Yet I suspect that deep down the motivations are more primitive and not so elaborate - a deep fear of being not-quite-good-enough is common to many people who lash out in ugliness and anger.

He'd rationalize it away. It's all about HIM.

Yep. They're saying that the culture they are defending is too weak to survive without violence and believe they aren't strong enough either.

You can say Brevik was "holding his ground".

8 (I Stand By What I Said Whatever It Was)  Tue, Apr 17, 2012 10:36:52am

Please regard:

8.05am Before the court started, journalists were spoken to by the translators who said that "self-defence" was a misleading translation for the grounds for acquittal Breivik is invoking. A better translation would be "necessity", they said as the clause he's referring to is about defence of property and defence of others, not solely about defence of your own person.

08.28am While we wait for a decision, more on the clarification from the translators regarding Breivik's defence of "necessity" rather than "self-defence". In Norway section 47 of the penal code states:

Quote No person may be punished for any act that he has committed in order to save someone's person or property from an otherwise unavoidable danger when the circumstances justified him in regarding this danger as particularly significant in relation to the damage that might be caused by his act.

BTW: Obviously Brevik took his response to these beliefs to a whole new level of paranoid hatred. Instead of attacking the immigrants themselves as White Supremacists have been previously known to do, he instead attacked those that he saw as the future generation that would support and enable the takeover of his country by non-white races.

He attacked and killed teenagers at a camp hosted by a liberal political party because he saw them as "race traitors," I'm sure the fact that they were basically isolated on an island and effectively unguarded also factored into his thinking. Why attack a current politician or two and get gunned down by the police in the process when you can attack dozens of possible future politicians at once and walk away without a scratch?

Forget the rhetoric Brevik and his supporters spew, forget the basically insane justifications that they put forward to explain his actions. The truth is that this was nothing but terrorism, ("real, really, real terrorism™") he killed teenagers and children because they might, possibly, grow up to oppose his point of view politically on immigration, he was "sending a message" to anyone else who might choose to betray the white race.

Sundays With the Christianists: A Biology Textbook That Explains Science Is Mostly Atheists Making Things Up
there is no history of evolution recorded either by man or by fossils. This lack of evolutionary records does not disturb most evolutionists because they believe they have a model of how evolution took place. This model is often illustrated by a phylogenetic tree -- a line-up of organisms based on how they are supposedly related in an attempt to show the path ...

We are in the midst of the worst Washington scandal since Watergate. The reputation of the Obama White House has, among conservatives, gone from sketchy to sinister, and, among liberals, from unsatisfying to dangerous. No one likes what they're seeing. The Justice Department assault on the Associated Press and the ugly politicization of the Internal Revenue Service have left the administration's credibility deeply, ...

4 Things We Should Remember When Arguing About Politics
Political discourse in America has reached levels of douchebaggery previously only theorized about but never observed, like conversational dark matter. We're in a whole new world of hating people based solely on their opinions on a few key issues, and since this is unexplored territory, our conversations about politics are usually only a couple notches beyond the "hold your breath until the other ...

You can tell what they think of our music by the places we are forced to play it in. This looks like a good spot for a livestock show. -- The Mothers of Invention were opening for Cream in April of 1968 in Chicago. The place was very large and did look like it had been used for displays of cattle and other such animals.
