Global spin is correct. Watch closely, please.

The combination of those statements creates an impression that the Israelis see the current diplomacy with Iran as prevarication in the face of a mortal threat to Israel — a message calculated to raise the domestic political heat on President Obama.

There is absolutely no evidence given to support such a statement, regarding Netenyahu's motivation. However, if the hypothesis is that the Prime Minister's statement adds to the confusing nature of all official statements from both the US and Israel, then the second paragraph would actually follow from the first.

As the article stands, it's not even internally coherent. And I did read the entire article.

Good analysis. And not that Time is the be all end all of objectivity, it sure stirred up intense feelings. Did you read the comments?

re: #2 Bob Dillon

I just did. That was one big echo chamber, beginning with Karon, who is linking to other journalists who know as little as he does.

The major problem is that they are completely baffled by the contradictory statements, and end up analyzing the situation by ignoring the facts and repeating what they think they know.

There is no question that there is a war on, and it could be a world war. Europe is involved, so is the rest of the Middle East, and of course Israel, Iran, and the US.

The facts are that every day there are contradictory statements regarding Iran. Okay, then simply ask what strategic purpose confusion plays in warfare. However, every theory they float ignores half of the statements, as if the statements are consistent and coherent.

Dan Bruce is also citing other journalists and opinion writers as his sources. There isn't much there there.

Pope Francis Says Atheists Who Do Good Are Redeemed, Not Just Catholics
Pope Francis rocked some religious and atheist minds today when he declared that everyone was redeemed through Jesus, including atheists. In an extraordinary admission, Attorney General Eric Holder has told Congress that U.S. drone strikes since 2009 have killed four Americans -- three of whom were "not specifically targeted." WAPO’s Glenn Kessler Gives Three “Pinocchios” To Claim of Doctored Emails
It has long been part of the Washington game for officials to discredit a news story by playing up errors in a relatively small part of it.
