Apple trees at Radke Orchards, near Michigan City, are blossoming a month early because of record-breaking warm weather in March, owner Ruth Radke said.
A story I saw on the local news said half of the fruit crop in areas where the Nor’easter hit were wiped out today. Farmers are planning to lay off half their staff due to expected low yields.
