As someone who has been in the oil and gas industry for over thirty years, I know, that you do not know what you are talking about. You people only sell things through emotionalism. Never fact.

I've read a lot about fracking of late and it seems that there are vast reserves of methane in shale.
The cost of recovery is relatively low.
There was a slight earth tremor on the Fylde coast in northern England which resulted in some opposition; but I rather fancy fracking will become a major industry in the nexy few years.

LOL! And they all think they are going to be the next Beverly Hillbillies ( never mind that it was a TV show...)

Concur. Fracking is already being done quite safely in Pennsylvania. The thing this bill takes away is the ability of Luddites to file bogus challenge after bogus challenge to try to shut down legitimate energy projects.

Luddites and Beverly Hillbillies? Really? I guess it wouldn't bother too many people if it was next to your property in your town. But it's quite safe. Certainly. They say so. Don't read the handover of public rights to corporations, it's hicks and Luddites. Fuck them hicks and Luddites. Ex Pa Governor Tom Ridge of Homeland Security fame can go on TV and say that there is not "one substantiated claim of well pollution due to fracking". He can say that because guilt or culpability was never admitted in a court of law. Yeah! Fuck the hicks! I don't even think you boys read the article, you got it all figured out. It doesn't affect you. For now. Good night and fuck off.

Since the Republicans have taken control in this state, they have:

- Stripped watershed protection for Grade A trout streams
- Suspend Air Pollution Controls
- Reorganized the State DEP as a more top-down structure
- Appointed a new DEP commisioner who is a total stooge

Who do you think these people are, altruists? Is that it? Worried about your job?

You're trust the Republicans on science?! And the environment?!!

8 dragonath  Thu, Apr 26, 2012 9:06:45pm

I wrote that too quick, but you get the gist; why would the DEP attempt to do these things? Why is the state granting exemptions for watersheds and wilderness areas? Why is the state, in the case of Pittsburgh, overriding local authority?

Does this sound like an honest and responsible government to you?
