If you view the poll table at the link below there are some interesting breakdowns. If Obama’s support among blacks wavers, he could lose the state. If more tea party supporters swing to Romney, he could pick up the state. Strategies in the state will hinge on old style politics - depressing or suppressing voting constituencies of the other candidate while increasing enthusiasm among your voters. While the first is doable for both candidates, closing Mitt Romney’s enthusiasm gap in North Carolina will be like bridging the Grand Canyon at the widest point.
