J.T. Ready, friend of Russell Pearce, who you might know from AZ's immigration bill.

Scumbag didn't even have the balls to face police after his crime. I wonder if Pearce is sad that his friend is dead.

The GOP sure hangs out with the most upstanding neo-nazi scum...

Who'd have thought such actions could come from a F*n nazi? How could the GOP possibly imagine such a thing as possible?

When Valley Neo-Nazi J.T. Ready Converted to Mormonism, Guess Which Prominent Politico Ordained Him an "Elder"

It begins with denials, repeated over time, by state Arizona Senate President-elect Russell Pearce concerning his association with the Valley's best-known neo-Nazi, J.T. Ready.

Approached by an activist at a 2008 candidate forum during the Republican primary for the hotly contested state Senate seat in Legislative District 18, Pearce was asked point-blank if he was pals with the Mesa swastika-licker.

It was a relationship I'd exposed in my Feathered Bastard blog in June 2007 with photos of Pearce and Ready working a nativist rally at the state Capitol together ("Triumph of the Swill," June 18)...

Arizona Republican Party Endorses Protect Arizona Now Initiative by 3-1 Margin
By Dennis Durband, Editor
2008

...State and national Republican leadership is opposed to the Protect Arizona Now initiative. But virtually all the polling on the issue (by GOPUSA/Arizona, KAET-TV, ProjectUSA, News/Insight, and FrontPage Magazine) indicates support levels of 85 percent or higher. It’s a story of disconnect between party leadership and citizens.

Among those speaking in favor of the resolution were PAN senior advisers Randy Graf and Russell Pearce, both conservative members of the Arizona House of Representatives, District 18 House candidate J.T. Ready, Joseph Sweeny of Eloy and State Rep. Karen Johnson...

My condolences to the families...

Funny how some people who seem to be wound too tight and consumed by hatred of other human beings sometimes lash out, even at those closest to them. Strange how that happens...sigh... :(

After reading the articles and comments in the newspaper forum, I'm ready to establish a safehaven for sane Arizonans here in Alabama. You got a lot of sick puppies out there.

Needless to say, Ready has been covered well by LGF (mostly in pages).

This in particular comes to mind: [Link: littlegreenfootballs.com...]

I knew about Ready before he established himself as a conservative pol - from reports by Dave Neiwert:

This in particular:

Note the Arpaio connection.

Then again, there's this:

[Link: www.bizjournals.com...]

State Rep. Russell Pearce, R-Mesa, recently sent out an e-mail that contained an article produced by the National Alliance, a neo-Nazi group known for its anti-Semitic views.
Scottsdale Congressman J.D. Hayworth has withdrawn his backing for the controversial Republican state lawmaker, while Pearce's Democratic opponent Tammie Pursley is calling for his resignation.
In recent weeks, Pearce has also called for mass deportations of illegal immigrants, specifically referring to a 1950s era program called 'Operation Wetback.'
Hayworth, a Republican in a tough reelection battle in a Scottsdale/Tempe congressional district, put out a statement Tuesday on the Pearce matter.
"Given the regrettable and disturbing nature of the e-mail Russell Pearce circulated earlier today, I cannot in good conscience lend my endorsement to his candidacy for state representative. While Russell has issued an apology for his e-mail, I nonetheless will not be associated with any communication that contains anti-Semetic remarks," stated Hayworth.
Pearce apologized for the email, telling other Phoenix area media outlets it was mistake and he did not read the entire article before sending it to supporters.

[...]

The article Pearce sent out and then apologized for talks about Jewish control of the news media and the media's bias against whites, while favoring minorities and Israel.

Latino GOP Leaders Ask Jewish Leaders Not to Support GOP Politicians Who are Supported By Anti-Semitic Groups

For Immediate Release

26 September 2011

info@somosrepublicans.com

Phoenix, AZ — It has come to the attention of Somos Republicans, the largest Latino Republican group in the country, that David Horowitz of Front Page Magazine will be speaking on behalf of Russell Pearce. David Horowitz — a conservative American of Jewish heritage — is known for his advocacy of conservative principles, support for Israel and his fight for tougher prosecution of the war on terror. His activism demonstrates that conservative and Republican values transcend both color and creed while exploding negative stereotypes planted by liberal Democrats. Somos Republicans shares this commitment to racial and religious inclusiveness.

We strongly urge Mr. Horowitz to not hand Russell Pearce the fig leaf he needs by speaking on his behalf.

Our concern is that Horowitz will be providing legitimacy to Russell Pearce, a man who in 2006 disseminated White Supremacist propaganda denying the Holocaust. Pearce also endorsed and filmed campaign promotional materials for Neo-Nazi leader, JT Ready in 2006 and appearing with Ready at a political rally in 2007. When asked by a local reporter about his son, Joshua’s “Iron Eagle,” Neo-Nazi tattoo, Pearce seemed oddly unconcerned and declared his opposition to tattoos rather than forth-rightly condemning anti-Semitism and domestic terrorist groups like the Neo-Nazis. For these and many other reasons, it is clear that Pearce does not share Somos Republicans’ and David Horowitz’s vision of a Republican party and a conservative movement which respects the dignity of all human beings. We strongly urge Mr. Horowitz to not hand Russell Pearce the fig leaf he needs by speaking on his behalf.

Blaming immigrants all the way to the end:

[Link: tpmmuckraker.talkingpointsmemo.com...]

The Arizona Republic reported the victims were Ready’s girlfriend, her daughter, the daughter’s boyfriend and the daughter’s 18-month-old baby. Ready still somehow managed to use the event to blame immigrants even after his death. A posting on his Facebook page appeared hours after the massacre took place.

“Reports are unconfirmed that a cartel assassination squad murdered JT Ready and several of his friends and family this afternoon in Gilbert Arizona,” the posting said. “This page’s admin will keep you updated of the situation as soon as possible.”

And this just in:
[Link: www.myfoxphoenix.com...]

Regarding whether I knew JT Ready, I did, as did many of us who have been involved in Mesa politics for a long time. When we first met JT he was fresh out of the Marine Corp and seemed like a decent person. He worked as a telephone fundraiser for Christian and pro-life groups, he dated the
daughter of one of our District 18 members, and his attitudes and spoken opinions were good and decent. At some point in time darkness took his life over, his heart changed, and he began to associate with the more despicable groups in society. They were intolerant and hateful and like so many who knew him from before, I was upset and disappointed at the choices he was making. I worked with others to have him removed from his local position within our Republican Party because there has never been and will never be any room in our Party or our lives for those preaching hatred. He was angry with me and stayed angry with me, and it has been several years since I have had reason to speak with JT.

In the past several years the local media has worked hard to try to tie me to the JT Ready that preached hate, and that is nothing more than a lie. When I learned the truth about him, I made it clear how wrong I thought it was and I worked to remove him from our Party. Yet the lie is told and retold over and over again. It is the ugliest form of politics. The most radical groups I have ever belonged to are the Boy Scouts of America and the Fraternal Order of Police, and in my 65 years in Mesa, as a law enforcement deputy, as a judge and as the head of state agencies, I have never been accused of mistreating anyone or of unfair conduct toward anyone I have associated with, hired or supervised.

Finally, while I am frequently critical of the job the mainstream media does in pursuing a political agenda instead of the truth, today¹s behavior is the most reprehensible that I have ever witnessed. On the very day that these unspeakable crimes take place, editors and producers all over town are
making a concerted effort to make the story about a politician whose conservative politics they disagree with.

Today, the Devil won and claimed the soul of one young man and the lives of others, including the most innocent of all, a child. Our thoughts and prayers are with the four beautiful souls that are now in God¹s hands. We pray that He accepts them into his kingdom and that He grants comfort and solace to the friends and surviving family.

re: #14 May Day! May Day!

If the SPLC is correct that story is obvious BS. Ready was reportedly booted from the Marines with two courts-martial and a bad conduct discharge.

4 Things We Should Remember When Arguing About Politics
Political discourse in America has reached levels of douchebaggery previously only theorized about but never observed, like conversational dark matter.
