Michele Bachmann to Officially Endorse Romney After Saying He Could Never Beat Obama
Failed Republican presidential candidate Michele Bachmann will throw her support behind Mitt Romney on Thursday - just months after declaring there was no way the former Massachusetts governor could beat President Obama in the general election.
The Minnesota congresswoman is set to officially endorse Romney during a campaign stop in Portsmouth, Va.
After dropping out of the race following a poor, sixth place performance in January’s Iowa caucuses, Bachmann declined to endorse any candidate, instead saying she was focusing on “working behind the scenes” to unite the Republican Party.
Since then, prominent GOPers - including House Speaker John Boehner, former candidate Texas Gov. Rick Perry and former New York City mayor Rudy Giuliani- have all endorsed Romney. Rick Santorum and Newt Gingrich are expected to follow suit.
Back in December, Bachmann ripped Romney, arguing he would never be able to win against Obama.
Another former GOP presidential candidate enjoys a tasty helping of crow.
