He'll get the Geller and Spenser votes.

Another end-times nutcase no doubt. And this "...he met with MK Danny Danon and other Likud politicians..." I have nothing to add other than the obvious.

He'll get Geller's vote.

Good thing she doesn't live in Texas. I never thought I'd see the day when I'd prefer seeing Barton keep his seat. //

re: #3 Gus

Yeah, I haven't forgotten Danon's press conference with Rick Perry last year, which even Netanyahu rebuked:

"I would have told him stay out of American politics," the prime minister said.

But he said he had little control over Danon, who has challenged Netanyahu from the right and told me he's disappointed in both Perry and Netanyahu for supporting the idea of a Palestinian state.

Crazy talk ...

re: #3 Gus

Yup

Imagine that- a Texas politician playing to the fringe.

I'm pretty sanguine about it all- in a lot of ways, the Palestinian leadership (PA) and the Likud deserve each other.

Though I have to add that in the article Gelbman claims he's not a religious person. Just an opportunist WRT to the evangelicals, I guess.

I agree that the U.S. should not inject its politics into the settlements issue, and that Israel has a right to defend itself as it sees fit. And the U.S. govt SHOULD cease giving aid to countries hostile to us, especially those with human rights abuses within their own countries.

That said, the notion that the U.S. is becoming Islamic in nature is absurd. I see many Muslim folk around these parts and if anything, they are adapting to this melting pot of a culture of ours. iPods, cell phones, cigarettes, uncovered legs, fraternizing with members of the opposite sex, eating bacon (my Turkish friend), etc.

The Pamela Geller stance holds no water.

Agreed, except when someone is running for a seat in the U.S. Congress, then whatever is in the best interests of the U.S. should be foremost. I haven't looked for more info on him to see what else he says, but what's in the JPost article says virtually nothing about what he'd do for America. If he were running for a seat in the Knesset, then fine, be all about what's best for Israel—that's your job.

It is absurd, but I've seen quite a few absurdities become reality over the past couple of years. I no longer rule anything out where wingnuts are concerned.

Again, my view of Likud is very poor. This is a group that is decended from Irgun and Lehi, terrorist organizations. And far from saying they regret their past actions, they try to excuse them, or worse.

Likud & radicals like Hamas is the reason I want an Independent City-State of Jerusalem.

If I ever become a super villain Jerusalem is totally becoming my lair. And when I kick everyone out who refuses to play nice the world will thank me for it.
