Quite possible that any journal is full of errors and even lies. Why did Romney apologize?

Well yeah, it's standard journalistic practice to include corrections in an article now. If you're really top shelf you put a note at the bottom saying that you did.

It's the organizations which refuse to change stories when confronted with errors that I worry about (I'm looking at you fox).

Your headline seeks to suggest that the story is a lie. It corrected one minor point -- which was probably the result of miscommunication between the author and witness -- but the rest remains. There are at least 4 original witness or participates in the event (white was never identified as one witness or participate in the story) about what happened. So, the lie is akin to one person saying Romeny was wearing a blue shirt, but in reality was wearing a red one when he assaulted a fellow student.

I don't agree with this Page at all. There was no "lie," there was a confusion about a small detail that was clarified in an update. It has no effect on the overall story, and it's absurd to say the Washington Post was "hiding" something.

actually...

Editor’s Note: An earlier version of this story reported that White “has long been bothered” by the Lauber incident. White later clarified in a subsequent interview that he has been disturbed by the incident since he learned of it several weeks ago from a former classmate, before being contacted by The Washington Post.
