And here we see the result of cutbacks that were not really thought through.

I agree. It isn’t as if there isn’t enough waste and fraud to be dealt with before even considering cutting health services.

This is also largely the fault of the anti-vaccination movement.

I’m keeping a close eye on this epidemic, because our homeschool group has probably lost herd immunity. My kids are vaccinated, but if the chickenpox is any indication, lots of families are not.

Cutbacks? It’s the anti-vaxxers. If everyone were vaccinated like they were supposed to be there wouldn’t be an epidemic in the first place. The reason they aren’t getting vaccinated doesn’t have anything to do with cutbacks, it’s because of the anti-vaccine fearmongers spreading misinformation.

It is due to an entire generation of parents who have never even seen Pertussis and therefore saw no reason to vaccinate their children against it when they were falsely told of possible dangers associated with the shots to prevent it.

Exactly. When something is successful, like vaccinations, it creates the false illusion of being unnecessary. People are just stupid. And now we are going to need a lot more tiny coffins.
