I watched right up until Ms. McCain pulled out the magical balance fairy. "Oh, it's hard to be a moderate Democrat these days."

I suspect Ms. McCain is shortly going to decide that she's going to have to stay with the GOP and that to do so she'll start spewing the talking points. Sad.

Yeah, no use for Ms. McCain. The teabagGOP is your party. Welcome to it.

Interesting interview. She will be ripped by both sides. The coin is in the air.
Wonder what side it will land on?

Maybe I'm a pinko or something, but Obama and Biden seem like moderate Democrats to me, and I say that as a formerly Republican-leaning (now Democratic-leaning) Independent.

I think Meghan McCain should decide which is more important to her -- principles or party affiliation -- and act accordingly.

Whichever side gives her the sort of attention she likes best, is my guess.

Loyalty is a guiding star for her family, and its literally in her blood. And honestly, once you've been on one side of the line for long enough, you really can't gain anything by switching. Jump ship and neither side will trust you.

It's politics, not warfare! The only person you should have to be loyal to is yourself.

I don't mean to be callous but Ms. McCain will announce her parting with the right not long after her father passes. Something it about it not being her father's party anymore, blah, blah, blah.

If you want to be effective politically, you have to be loyal to a party.

Is it better to be effective politically or be able to live with yourself and the things you party wants you to support?

People switch parties. The only people who would perceive as her as disloyal for switching would be people who don't like her anyhow. And I disagree with her that it's hard to be a moderate Democrat these days. The president and vice president are moderates within their party and exempting Pelosi the same is true about the congressional leadership.

I was with McCain until she stated that the Democrats are pushing out moderates. Pure Magical Balance Fairy horseshit.

If Democrats were purging moderates like her GOP buddies, Obama would not being running unopposed for the nomination.
