And I would say that American media outlets are anti-Israel (they aren't, though European media outlets are a different story), but many are very reluctant to side with the 'big dog' instead of the 'underdog'. Moreover, they often want to seem even-handed, even when it is entirely clear who is at fault for an incident.
There is also one final issue and that is the fact that is easier for a news outlet to go after Israel. Going after the Palestinians means no access to the West Bank as they won't allow reporters they consider hostile in. But Israel does not have such a policy, which leaves them with few ways to to retaliate when they get unfairly portrayed.
I'm not happy about this whole bot thing, and because of this, I don't read the posts by Aigle. We've had many opportunities on LGF to actually talk about the role of the media in fanning the flames of antisemitism. I'm sure the opportunity will come again. But this ain't it.
Overall, the tyrants of the world do everything they can to intimidate the media--and many reporters give in to this intimidation. I think the more reasonable approach would be to simply do a story without the input of the side exerting duress. For some reason, the press has not made the connection between a general policy of overall censorship and intimidation, and the crimes that usually take place within tyrannical regimes.
